THE RESIDENTIAL WEEK
Our Residential Week is a fun, riding-based introduction to British horse racing for 14-16 year olds and is hosted at the British Racing School in Newmarket.
In 2023/24 the Residential Weeks are kindly funded by the Sir Peter O'Sullevan Charitable Trust.

The Residential Weeks cater for those young people with some experience of riding at an urban equestrian academy and we are also able to cater for those with no experience. During the weeks students learn to look after racehorses, improve their riding and have a go on an equiciser. We also go on a number of trips including to the races, the Newmarket gallops and veterinary surgeons etc.

Our next upcoming Residential Weeks are:
27th - 31st May 2024 - FULL
29th July - 2nd August 2024 - Applications now CLOSED

You will learn to ride the racehorses at the British Racing School and will receive specialist training from the BRS instructors. You'll improve your skills on simulators and learn more about looking after horses.
You'll find out more about the world of British horseracing - you'll go racing, go behind the scenes at a top racing yard or stud and also find out about the different careers opportunities in the sport.
Whilst this is an opportunity to improve your riding and horse care skills, we also want you to have fun, meet lots of people and find out more about what makes British horseracing so special.
